Pet
Breath - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What is the difference
between Dr.Katz for Dogs toothpaste and using my own toothpaste on my
dog, or other "dog" toothpaste?
A: Dogs hate foam and
every toothpaste on the market for humans (except TheraBreath
toothpaste) contains a harsh detergent known as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate.
This is OK for shampoo, but the great amount of foam created is very
troublesome to your dog, because they immediately want to get rid of it,
but because your dog can’t spit or cough it out, they become very
disturbed.
Also, Dr. Katz for Dogs
is the only Oxygenating Toothpaste designed Specifically for
dogs. It does not contain strong minty flavors (as in human products),
so dogs are not "turned off: by the "human taste".
Q: Aren’t rawhide chews
enough to maintain my dog’s breath?
A: No. That’s because
rawhide chews (or chews of any kind) provide only a physical method of
removing just a bit of surface dental plaque. This is just a very small
part of "bad breath in dogs". Your dog’s teeth need to be
cleaned, just like yours!
The plaque that
accumulates at the junction of the roots and the gums is where
mineralization takes place, which then becomes tartar (or calculus).
This is very irritating and starts the process of gum disease and
eventually tooth loss.
Using an Oxygenating
product like Dr. Katz for Dogs Oral Solution and Toothpaste ensure that
oxygen molecules inhibit the production of the dangerous sulfur
compounds that initiate gum disease and bad breath. No other oral
product for dogs uses this type of active ingredient.
Q:
My dog’s teeth are
very dirty. What should I do?
A: It’s very important
to work closely with your vet. Ask your vet to examine and clean your
dog’s teeth. When you get home, maintain this clean feeling for your
dog by using Dr. Katz for Dogs as recommended on the product label.
Q: Occasionally, my dog
gets some small sores on his back legs. My friend said he applied your
Dr. Katz for Dogs Toothpaste when his dog had similar sores and he said
it worked great. Why does this work?
A: Our Dr. Katz for Dogs
toothpaste contains a very concentrated form of medical-grade aloe vera.
At this concentration, the aloe ver assists in the formation on new
tissue because it is beneficial to collage production. Try it! It should
work very nicely.
Q: My dog has an odor
problem – not just bad breath, but she just smells bad all the time. I
shampoo her with the most expensive pet shampoos I can find. Despite
using these costly formulas and prescription shampoos from the vet, she
still stinks. What can I do?
A: Our De-Odorizing
shampoo should do the trick! It contains oxygenating agents which will
attack odor-producing microbes below your dog’s skin and coat. Plus,
it contains healthy natural ingredients like Aloe Vera, along with anti
flea and tick agents.
