Below are more specific details of the study conducted in 2011 as taken from their test summary. A total of 30 (30/30) test subjects (8 males and 22 females ranging in age from 23 to 69 years) were enrolled and successfully completed the test procedure. When compared with baseline, there was:
- a mean percent improvement of 18.0% observed immediately after a single application of the test product, with 100% of the subjects showing improvement;
- a mean percent improvement of 11.7% observed 12 hours and 15 minutes after a single application of the test product, with 83% of the subjects showing improvement; and
- a mean percent improvement of 0.2% observed 24 hours after a single application of the test product, with 53% of the subjects showing improvement.
The improvements observed immediately post-application and 12 hours and 15 minutes after a single application were statistically significant (p<0.05) when compared with baseline.
Conclusions
At the conclusion of a 24-hour clinical efficacy evaluation conducted in 30 subjects, TheraBreath Oral Rinse was associated with the following improvements: Malodor of the breath was significantly improved immediately after and 12 hours and 15 minutes after a single use of the test product. TheraBreath was the only product proven in the laboratory trial to last beyond 12 hours.
