vegan bad breath

Vegan diets are increasingly popular as people are straying from processed foods and animal products. However, because of these diets, it's not rare for a vegan to experience halitosis. If you aren't on a restrictive diet, there are plenty of options to rid your mouth of stinky breath, but sometimes vegans may have more trouble with the issue. Here are a few home remedies that are vegan-friendly and can banish bad breath:

Ginger tea
Ginger is a wonder-root. There are endless health benefits from ginger, and sipping on a fresh cup of homemade tea can quickly get rid of bad breath that is causing you anguish. You will want to cut the root into thin slices - or grate it if you are looking for an extra strong tea - and then place the ginger in a tea infuser inside of a mug. Then, pour hot water over the root and wait about five minutes. If you don't have a tea infuser, you can simply strain the root with a fine mesh sieve.

Fill up on veggies
Fruits and vegetables are great for your body and mouth. This is where vegans benefit the most, because starchy fruits and veggies, such as apples, celery and carrots rinse the teeth of odor-causing plaque. They also help balance the bacteria in the mouth that can cause halitosis.

A bit of desert
Dark chocolate is delicious, vegan-friendly and contains antioxidants and minerals that protect the mouth. Combine melted dark chocolate with almonds and you've got yourself an unbelievable treat that satisfies your sweet tooth and kicks halitosis to the curb.

When you're finally ready to stop chowing down, there are many all-natural toothpastes and alcohol free mouthwashes on the market, some of which are vegan approved and made with pure ingredients.
